CrossLink: A Web Platform Designed with the Web Team in Mind

Web Transformation: From Static to Cutting Edge

The client: EDS, now HP Enterprise Services, a global Fortune 500 company

The challenges:

  • Migrate the website from a UNIX platform to a Windows platform
  • Transform from a static publishing model to a dynamic publishing model
  • Redesign the corporate website
  • Jump to the forefront of web standards and user experience
  • Manage the entire Web site with only 6 Web professionals

Seeking to save time and money on managing its website, the EDS web team examined content management systems from several vendors, but could not find a product that provided both flexibility and full control over an entire website. If one of their goals was to be on the forefront of web standards, then their website management needed to reflect that quality. They needed a system that could get them there.

That's how our relationship began. In 2004, EDS asked Innovative Way to build a forward-thinking solution that would meet their needs as they redesigned their corporate website and later rebranded to HP Enterprise Services.

The results:

  • We created and deployed CrossLink in 2004, giving EDS and its Web team full control of their website content
  • The EDS Web team won the 2004 International "Stevie" Business Award for "Best Corporate Home Page."
  • HP Enterprise Services retains use of CrossLink to manage the business unit website
  • HP has expanded the use of CrossLink to include another business unit, ExcellerateHRO.

See below for the multiple redesigns of the EDS website and awards they received as they became HP Enterprise Services.
